A good night for art & music

Early in the night, that's Nate in the lower left.
Last night was a lot of fun. Nate's exhibition went over very well, with a lot of compliments for his photos. The pieces look great on the wall, have a very peacefully eerie nighttime vibe to them, and the colors fortuitously go very well with the colors and lighting of the gallery space.

Dancing and hooty-hooting.
Lloyd Rohr performed the music for the night, with Bill Walkner sitting in for much of Lloyd's set. The two of them were on fire last night, helped along by an extremely enthusiastic cheering section (I think they were actually groupies of a sort...dancing, hollering, clapping and whistling). Lloyd and Bill looked like they were having a blast ripping into their tunes and responding to the crowd.

Tonight at 7:00pm: snorb!
Be here or live in shame.

Tonight's music...new line-up

Hello All...
A quick program change for tonight. Kelly Underwood won't be able to make it tonight as she called and is under the weather. But the indomitable Bill Walkner will be filling the house with his fun and sassy tunes. So, tonight at 8pm...Bill Walkner!

Unfortunately for all of you monkey owners, Kelly was our go-to gal for the monkey grooming tonight, so that's been postponed as well. I suppose we could substitute a pet turtle waxing for any turtle owners out there, as I have some experience with that myself and could probably offer that service. I'll check my turtle waxing supplies and get back to you on that...they may be a little depleted from our May 23rd World Turtle Day celebration a few months ago (think I'm kidding? Google it, baby).

Bill Walkner at 8:00pm tonight at Stumpjack Coffee.

Music this weekend

Friday night at 8:00pm: Bill Walkner, guitarist/singer/songwriter/humorist. I have to be honest and say that the first time I heard Bill I was genuinely surprised...his musical talent and skill might only be matched by his good humor and joyfulness in performing. He's a wonderfully talented songwriter and his humor and personality show up in all of his sings.

Saturday night at 8:00pm:
Nick Venturella, Madisonian singer/songwriter, folk and indie music. Nick was here a few months ago and we had a blast, and he's back this Saturday night. He's got a half-dozen or so CDs to his credit, along with a ton of performing experience that makes his gigs just a heck of a lot of fun. Check out the
Flickr pics from Nick's last gig at the Stump.

Kerry and Bill Flickr pics

Bill Walkner...photo by Nate Walkner.

Just finished putting the images onto Flickr from the weekend...Kerry Michaels from Friday night and Bill Walkner from Saturday night (the last four gorgeous photographs of Bill in that set are by Bill's son Nate's hand...beautiful shots aren't they.) Again, Flickr sets are also in the right hand column.

This Friday and Saturday night

Kerry Michaels - Friday night at 7:00 pm. Last week, I think it was, Kerry was spotlighted in the Herald Times Reporter Weekend Edition. He remains one of the real special talents in the local music scene...every time he plays with us it's a fun time and the music is always outstanding. Kerry's working on a new CD right now, and he'll likely be playing some of his new songs Friday night.

Bill Walkner - Saturday night at 7:00 pm. Bill performed for his son Nate's photography opening last month...and we had to have him come back for his own gig after listening to him that night. Bill wrote a most excellent folk song about Stumpjack Coffee too and that alone is worth coming to hear Bill play on Saturday night.
