Please help make Stumpjack #1

Stumpjack Coffee needs your help, all you Stumpers and Stumpjumpers out there. It's time for the annual Best of Manitowoc County, where you give props to your favorite places and services. Stumpjack would be most grateful if you would take a few minutes online to do the survey and if you would consider nominating Stumpjack for the following categories:

• Atmosphere
• Coffee Shop
• Lunch
• Beer Selection
  
• Ice Cream (gelato!)
• Pizza

Of course, there are any number of places that serve great pizza or ice cream or do a great lunch...vote your personal favorites. The biggies for us are Coffee Shop, Atmosphere, Lunch and Beer Selection, so please enter us for these categories especially.
The other two categories of Ice Cream and Pizza might be longshots for the Stump (although we do think we do those things pretty well, not as many folks know about it as know about the more popular places that serve pizza and ice cream.

Kim's niece, Samantha, is in the shop this afternoon, which gives me a little free time to work on some things that have been on the to-do list for Zeus-knows-how-long. Finally getting to work on our links up there underneath the header. Just hooked up the "Javalogy" link with yesterday's HTR column (that'll be where they all can be found).

2009 Cool City Classic Car Show

This year's Classic Car Show was another great one. Lots of cool cars, lots of people enjoying the day, beautiful weather, good steady business throughout the day at the shop. Tip of the hat to Rick & Colleen Inman and everyone else who worked so hard and diligently to make it another really fun event. Here are a few images that our pal Jeff Dawson took:

On the stump...or porch...with Scott Hanson

Tonight at 8:00pm, Scott Hanson of Milwaukee's On the Porch will be here. We're very excited about Scott's gig tonight. It'll be his first at Stumpjack and his appearance was actually booked by our friend Steph Davies (yep, the artist & musician who's work is hanging on the walls of Stumpjack at this very moment).
One of the fun things for me is listening to an artist's music online before they perform and then hearing those songs that I've become familiar with performed live at the café. Every weekend with live music is a fun weekend, that's the truth, but I get the feeling that this is going to be one of those really special weekends where we get to listen to some great new music and make some new friends. Please join us if you can.
